FINCA Impact Finance’s “Rebuilding Kosovo” Video Wins Silver Telly Award

FINCA Impact Finance started operating in Kosovo in February 2000, less than a year after the conclusion of an armed conflict that cost thousands of lives and displaced more than one million people. FINCA Kosovo, which launched with support from USAID, opened its doors to advance the mission of expanding financial inclusion to help individuals, families and communities recover from the war.

This year, FINCA Impact Finance released a short video that tells the story of FINCA’s work in Kosovo and how access to financial services has been critical to the economic recovery.

Award Acknowledges FINCA Kosovo’s Financial Inclusion Efforts

This July, the video, “Rebuilding Kosovo: One Loan at a Time” received the Silver Telly Award, the highest acknowledgment in the category of Excellence in Branded Content, Financial Services/Banking. The award is a testament to the perseverance of the people of Kosovo and to the contribution FINCA staff have made to the country’s recovery—in addition to the power of responsible financial services to improve lives by helping people launch and grow successful businesses.

“I believe that this award is another acknowledgment of FINCA Impact Finance and its mission here in Kosovo and around the world”, said FINCA Kosovo CEO Ardian Kastrati. “While there is still a lot of work to be done, we can look back and conclude that FINCA indeed has helped the people of Kosovo get back on their feet.”

FINCA’s Nearly Two Decades of Responsible Financial Services in Kosovo

In the 18 years since FINCA Kosovo distributed its first loan, it has contributed to the country’s recovery by offering a range of responsible financial products and services designed to help entrepreneurs establish profitable businesses and take control of their financial futures. FINCA Kosovo has effectively expanded financial inclusion and in the process helped Kosovo recover from the damage of the war.

One of 20 FINCA Impact Finance subsidiaries located across five continents, FINCA Kosovo shares the company’s common purpose, to be an unconventional community-based bank that profitably and responsibly provides financial services to help individuals and communities invest in their futures.

The video was a collaborative effort made possible by the team at FINCA Kosovo as well as FINCA Impact Finance’s agency partners David Soll and John Pouliot, who have directed and edited a number of videos for the company in recent years.
